QC Anime-zing! announces Johnny Yong Bosch and Eyeshine
Bettendorf, IA - November 19, 2009 - QC Anime-zing!, the premier anime convention of the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities, is excited to announce Johnny Yong Bosch and Eyeshine will be featured at the first ever QC Anime-zing!.
Johnny Yong Bosch started out by fighting giant bugs as Adam Park, the Black Ranger on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Johnny reprised the role for over three seasons on television, and appeared in two Power Rangers motion pictures. Johnny is well known for his voice acting roles including Vash the Stempede in Trigun, Kaneda in Akira, Renton in Eureka Seven, Claus in Last Exile, Clair in Heat Guy J, Sakaki in Witch Hunter Robin, Mike in Please Twins, Albert in The Count of Monte Cristo, Kiba in Wolf's Rain, and Itsuki in The Melancholy of Haurhi Suzumiya. Johnny is currently the voice of Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach and Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass.
Johnny's voice can also be heard in numerous video games. He voices the main character Nero in Devil May Cry 4 and performed voiceover work in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, .hack//G.U. , Persona 4, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time,Xenosaga, Wild Arms 4, Disgaea 3, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss, and Eternal Sonata. Johnny will participate in various panels during the convention and be giving out autographs on Saturday.
Johnny is also lead singer and rhythm guitarist of his band, Eyeshine, which debuted in 2006 with the How About That EP, whose blend of raw, unpolished modern rock was further explored on their debut full-length, Red Stripes White Lights. Eyeshine has appeared at numerous anime conventions since their debut, and has continued to tour nationwide. Eyeshine released their sophomore full length album, My Paper Kingdom in early 2009.
Eyeshine's band members Johnny Yong Bosch (guitar and vocals), Maurice Salmin (drums), Crystal Mesina (bass) and Eddie Colmenares (lead guitar) will play Saturday evening as part of the convention's main programming. Crystal Mesina is substituting for Tori Dozier, who usually plays bass for Eyeshine.
QC Anime-zing! will be held from June 18-20, 2010 at The Lodge Hotel and Convention Center in Bettendorf, IA. Registration for QC Anime-zing! begins January 1, 2010, starting at $30 for the weekend.
