New York Anime Festival announces voice actor contest

NY ANIME Festival, NYAV Post, and TripWire Productions Announce Voice Acting Contest

Norwalk, CT, November 15, 2007: The New York Anime Festival (NYAF) today announced Who Wants To Be A Voice Actor?, a voice acting contest produced by leading New York City studios NYAV Post and TripWire Productions. Who Wants To Be A Voice Actor? will take place at 12:30 PM on Sunday, December 9 at the inaugural New York Anime Festival at the Jacob Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. Hosted by NYAV Post founder Michael Sinterniklaas and TripWire Productions founder Tom Wayland, the event will give NYAF attendees the chance to fulfill their dreams of becoming a professional voice actor or actress. The Grand Prize is a paid voice acting role in an upcoming NYAV Post and/or TripWire Productions project.

Sinterniklaas and Wayland will put attendees through a series of contests, testing their vocal skills and range, narrowing the voice actor hopefuls down until only one remains. The contest will consist of three rounds: Prepared Material, Versatility, and Automatic Dialogue Replacement.

"We're honored to work with Mr. Sinterniklaas and Mr. Wayland, two of the top names in the anime dubbing industry, and we are very excited to be offering a fan a chance to become a professional voice actor -- something that is very literally a dream come true," NYAF Show Manager John McGeary said.

Anime fans interested in entering can find full details and Official Entry Forms online at http://www.nyanimefestival.com/en-us/493.cfm. Entrants must drop off completed forms in the New York Anime Festival Show Office anytime before 11:30 AM on Sunday, December 9 to be eligible for this competition. The New York Anime Festival is organized by the creators of New York Comic Con, which sold out of Weekend and Saturday passes at its 2007 event earlier this year. Thus, NYAF officials highly recommend that attendees purchase their tickets now from newyorkanimefestival.com or at one of its Official Ticket Vendors (Forbidden Planet, Image Anime, Jim Hanley's Universe, Kinokuniya, and St. Mark's Comics) to ensure entrance in December.
