Anime Punch: Armageddicon II to host battle of the bands

Amateur musicians to compete for fame and monetary gains

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Columbus, Ohio January 10, 2007 - Anime Punch: Armageddicon II is excited to host the first anime battle of the bands, where fans rock out to earn cash and the chance to go on tour to other conventions.

These bands formed of fans with the burning desire to bleed their love of anime to the masses though 6 strings and a beat up amp will have 12 minutes to jam, and will be judged both on technical prowess and on the amount of pure awesome they can generate. These fledglings of rock have the option of crafting their own anthems, covering classic scores from anime, or even re-envisioning existing songs to exemplify anime and its fandom through careful reconstruction of the lyrics. After the victor is chosen and the valiant have risen they will receive a 500 dollar cash prize, and the option to play other area conventions as a headlining band in the future.

Armageddicon II hopes that many bands sign up to make this experimental event a success that will become a new tradition at the convention that defies convention.
