Anime Overdose announces English-language premiere of A Tree of Palme

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Feb. 15 - Synchronous Entertainment, LLC, which produces the annual Anime Overdose convention in San Francisco, announced today the English-language premiere of A Tree of Palme, a film by Takashi Nakamura.

A Tree of Palme, a modern retelling of the classic Pinocchio tale, takes place in the sci-fi future world, and follows Palme's journey toward humanity.

Producer Janice Williams and Actress Kira Vincent-Davis will be on hand after the film for a Q&A session. Vincent-Davis voices Palme, the title character. The film's English-language version is both produced and distributed by ADV Films based in Houston, Texas.

Anime Overdose is a weekend-long event, hilighting animation from Japan, America, and South Korea, and features over 30 panel and question and answer sessions with celebrity industry insiders, including actress and writer Alex Borstein of Family Guy, director Takeshi Mori of Gunsmith Cats, and director Kim Moon Sang of Sky Blue.

During the convention, Synchronous Entertainment, LLC will be hosting a charity auction to benefit the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Industry response has been tremendous, with executives and celebrities donating unique items for auction. All proceeds from sales at the auction will go directly to the foundation.

Anime Overdose 2005 is sponsored by the consulate general's office of Japan in San Francisco, the consulate general's office of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco, ADV Films, FUNimation, and Viz LLC.
