Wizard World Gaming cancelled in Atlanta, integrated with Portland show Wizard World has announced that its first Wizard World Gaming convention, which had been planned to be held in Atlanta, Georgia from January 22 through 24, has been moved to Portland, Oregon in February and will be part of their Wizard World Comic Con Portland event.

John Macaluso, Wizard World CEO, was quoted in their press release as saying, "In planning the debut of Wizard World Gaming, it became evident that we would not have enough time to put on a high-quality show in Atlanta. We are confident and excited in making Portland the launch of our gaming series."

The move follows a transformation of Wizard World Comic Con Atlanta into Wizard World Gaming Atlanta late last year which left some vendors unhappy that the event they had originally signed on for had been transformed around them. There is currently no Wizard World event scheduled for Atlanta.

Wizard World will offer access to the Wizard World Gaming part of the Portland event with a separate admission, but Wizard World Comic Con attendees will be able to access both events. The company plans to attach a "Wizard World Gaming" show to some of its other events going forward.

No details have been provided in regard to those who had pre-registered for the now-cancelled Atlanta event.
